Covid 19 Information January 2023

SOTW January 2023 – Covid 19 Guidelines for all our Classes

 Guidelines:

We will be following all guidelines advised by NPHET and the Irish Government and published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) and the HSE (Health Service Executive Ireland).

Covid Symptoms; Any child, parent or staff member who is displaying symptoms of Covid-19 prior to class or outside of class hours should not attend   class. Temperature checks will be taken and logged daily upon arrival.

 Covid Training

All our staff have completed Covid Infection, Prevention and Control Training. This will ensure all necessary hygiene and other guidelines are adhered to in   relation to Covid-19. If any child or staff member is displaying symptoms during class times, we will follow our procedure to ensure the safe isolation of the   individual until it is possible for them to go home. A mask will be provided on site for any person who is displaying symptoms, and the Covid Response Plan   would be activated.  Those potentially affected will be advised to phone their GP and follow their GP's medical guidance. SOTW will complete an incident   report and comply with any HSE contact tracing requests.

 New Class Activities:

We have a completely new program for 2023. Our daily schedule has been adapted to ensure social distancing – with clear markers – and re induction for      the children - and new hygiene guidelines explained.

Reduced Classes Capacity / Covid Response Plan:

The number of children permitted at each of our venues will be reduced to achieve the best social distancing practices. We are running a extra number of      classes to ensure that each one is extremely well managed, and each child gets the opportunity to join us.

Temperature checks will be taken and logged for each child and staff member each day on arrival.

Should any child / staff member be displaying any possible symptoms of Covid illness, they will not be permitted to enter Classes and must be taken home   immediately. Should any child / staff member display signs DURING class, the Covid Response Plan will be activated.

As slots are only 1 hour, we are very hopeful that this will keep us all safe.

New Terms: Children will be in smaller groups, and they will remain with this group for the duration of term. Groups will not inter-mix with other groups / no    swapping of times allowed.

  Hand Hygiene and Sanitation

We will provide hand sanitizing stations which children/staff will have easy access to. We will request that everyone also bring their own supply of hygiene      products including hand sanitizer for their own personal use. Children will be supervised on toilet breaks to ensure that proper hand hygiene is being     followed. Toilets and other hot spots such as door handles will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.

  Contactless drop off/collection:

We will implement a staggered drop off and collection. We aim for this to be carried out in a contactless format. Drop off times e.g.- 9:30 / 9.45am for     10:00am start and Collection times - 1:00 / 1:15pm. This is to protect parents, children, and staff (when the venue layout allows). You must stick to your       allocated arrival time.

  Contactless Payments

Where possible, payments for Class Fees will need to be made via Bank Transfer or online. Details will be given upon request as to how to do this.

 Parental Access:

Parents/guardians are not permitted to enter the Class / Camp venue unannounced at any time during the camp / class. If they must return to the   venue   during the day, they must first phone Suzanne to arrange this. Tel ; 0861504455...Any Adult entering the building must follow Covid recommendations.

Personal Belongings: We will require all personal belongings to be labelled, including water bottles, lunch boxes and bags.

In conclusion, we are fully aware that this has been a challenging and a confusing period for everyone and that getting life back to some form of normality s   of huge benefit to us all. We believe that we at Stars of the West Dance and Performance School Weekly Classes and Summer Camps can play a strong   role in returning children to this normality. Extra practices for health and safety are now necessary to keep us all safe and well, but we aim to integrate   these practices into the fun, engaging and exciting experience that we will continue to deliver at our summer camps and weekly classes.

We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.

 Suzanne and the SOTW Team
